Elke van Breemen
B.Sc. Natural Resources Conservation, B.Ed.
Elke van Breemen is a self-taught artist who developed a strong interest in wildlife art while studying Biology at the University of Victoria. She obtained her degree in Natural Resources Conservation in Forest Sciences at the University of British Columbia and worked as an environmental educator and research assistant for wildlife conservation organizations in British Columbia, the U.K., and the United States.
Through her detailed paintings and drawings, Elke depicts nature’s intricacies while conveying a message to appreciate and conserve wildlife. Her works have been displayed in exhibitions in Vancouver, Alert Bay and Vancouver Island, BC. She holds a degree in Education from Vancouver Island University and currently teaches art and ecology to children and youth on Vancouver Island. Elke’s work aims to inspire people of all ages to enrich their connection to nature.
